Privacy Policy

CurbAppeal is a marketplace that connects homeowners ("customers") with independent lawn and yard care businesses ("pros"). It is operated by Pragmatic LLC, a Missouri limited liability company ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect through the CurbAppeal and CurbAppeal Pro apps, our console and this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, mobile number and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Property details: service addresses, map location, the lawn and driveway areas you trace, gate or access notes, and the size of your lot or driveway.
- Job details: the services you book, times, prices, ratings, messages between customers and pros, and before, after and issue photos of the property taken by the pro.
- Payment details: card payments and pro payouts are handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers, bank account numbers or Social Security numbers. We keep only what we need to show you, such as a card's brand and last four digits.
- Pro enrollment details: documents pros upload (such as ID, insurance and vehicle records), business name and address, and the status of the background check run by our screening partner.
- Device details: a push notification token so we can send job updates, and basic technical logs (such as IP address and error reports) used to keep the service running and secure.
We do not track your location in the background. Map locations come from the addresses you enter.
How we use it
- To run the service: pricing jobs, matching jobs with pros, sending job updates, processing payments and payouts, and handling support requests and refunds.
- To verify accounts: sending one-time codes to your email or phone, and confirming pros meet our requirements.
- To keep the platform safe: preventing fraud and abuse, and resolving disputes using job records and photos.
- To meet legal duties, such as tax reporting for pro earnings.
Text messages (SMS)
When you add a mobile number, we text you a one-time verification code. Pros who agree in the app may also receive texts about job offers and schedule changes. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts and HELP for help, or contact support@getcurbappeal.app.
We do not sell, rent or share your mobile number or text message opt-in with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile information is shared only with the service providers that deliver our messages on our behalf.
Who we share it with
- Pros and customers, as needed for a job: a pro who accepts a job sees the service address, access notes, traced yard areas and the customer's name. Customers see the pro's name, rating and job photos. Phone numbers and email addresses are not shown to the other party, and are removed from in-app messages.
- Service providers who work on our behalf: Stripe (payments and payouts), Twilio (text messages), Resend (email), Google Cloud (hosting, storage and address lookup), Expo (push notifications) and our background check provider. They may use the information only to provide their services to us.
- Legal reasons: when required by law, or to protect the safety and rights of our users, the public or us.
- Business transfers: if CurbAppeal is sold or merged, information may transfer to the new owner under this policy.
We do not sell your personal information.
Photos
Job photos show homes, so they are never public. They are stored privately and shown only to the customer, the pro on the job and our support staff, through links that expire after a short time.
How long we keep it
We keep account and job records while your account is open and for as long as needed for payments, taxes, disputes and legal requirements. Verification codes expire within minutes.
Your choices
- You can update your name, email, phone number and addresses in the app.
- You can turn off push notifications in your phone's settings.
- You can ask us to delete your account and personal information by emailing support@getcurbappeal.app. Some records may be kept where the law requires it.
Security
We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, private storage and limited staff access to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Children
CurbAppeal is for adults. You must be at least 18 to create an account, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
We may update this policy. If the changes are significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
